Details of the assignment:

                    A busy international family based in Barcelona is urgently seeking a warm and experienced English- and Spanish-speaking nanny to care for their 15-month-old son. The family is looking for a live-out nanny, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM. There may be occasional babysitting required during evenings or weekends, and occasional overnight stays with the baby, e.g., if both parents are travelling (this will always be arranged in advance with the parents). It is essential that the candidate lives in Barcelona or nearby and can commute daily. 

                   Both parents are professionals who run their own businesses and travel frequently for work, so they seek a responsible, reliable, and trustworthy nanny to take sole charge of their toddler. While the family has two other children, aged 13 and 4, the focus of this role will be on caring for the toddler, as their 4-year-old has a separate nanny. The nanny will be responsible for all childcare duties, including preparing the little one for the day, organising clothes and the boy's wardrobe, tidying the bedroom and play area, and handling evening bath time. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in speech therapy and be able to prepare nutritious meals. As the little boy has a light hearing loss, the nanny needs to take him to speech therapy appointments and to the checkups for his hearing aids

                  The family is looking for someone with proven expertise as a nanny who understands the importance of creating a nurturing and engaging environment for their child to thrive. The nanny will be expected to support the child's early development by organising age-appropriate, educational activities and games, and ensuring he reaches key developmental milestones.  Given their busy schedules, the parents also highly value a nanny who can maintain detailed records of the child's days and progress, sleep patterns, and behavioural patterns, providing them with regular updates on his progress. 

                  The ideal candidate for this position will have an excellent understanding of early childhood development. They should be creative, fun, and capable of coming up with stimulating ideas to entertain and engage the baby. The family occasionally travels and would highly value a nanny who is flexible and able to accompany them on trips. While not required, additional qualifications in childcare would be a significant advantage. The suitable candidate for this role is someone experienced in similar family dynamics, can work without supervision, and can think on their feet and take the initiative when necessary. 

Requirements:

Previous experience as a full-time nanny

Relevant experience working with toddlers 

Residing in Barcelona or nearby and able to commute daily

Travel ready

Childcare qualifications (Desirable)

First aid certificate (Desirable)
