Live out, Daytime, Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) in Zurich

Location: Zurich, Switzerland, with travel
Term: 5 months, with the possibility to extend to 6 months
Start Date: Beginning of May 2026
Salary: Appox 45CHF  per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: 12-hour daytime 

Details of the Assignment

An international, first-time family based in Zurich is seeking an experienced and intuitive Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to support them following the arrival of their first child, expected at the beginning of May 2026. The role is offered on an initial five-month basis, with the possibility to extend to six months for the right candidate.

This is a one-baby household, and the family is looking for an NCS who is highly attuned to newborns and confident in reading and responding to a baby’s cues, rather than following a rigid or prescriptive approach. A calm, reassuring presence is essential, as this is their first experience of parenthood.

The family comes from an international background. English and French are spoken at home. They enjoy travelling and lead an active lifestyle, including skiing. There is also a small dog in the household.

The NCS will provide full newborn care, offer clear yet flexible guidance to the parents, and support the mother throughout the postnatal period. Establishing gentle routines while remaining responsive to the baby’s individual needs will be key. The role will also involve travelling with the family, and candidates must be comfortable with this aspect of the position.

• A highly experienced Maternity Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist with strong newborn expertise

• Calm, reassuring, and supportive, especially with first-time parents

• Fluent in English; French-speaking strongly preferred but not essential

• Flexible, travel-ready, and adaptable to changing routines

• Confident and comfortable around dogs

• Professional, discreet, and emotionally intelligent in approach

• Able to commute to the family's residence
