Part-time, permanent, live-out nanny, Spanish and English speaking, Castelldefels, Barcelona

International Nanny is supporting a private family in Castelldefels in recruiting a part-time, live-out nanny. We work exclusively in private childcare, and this position is strictly child-focused. Housekeeping is not required.

Location: Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain
Start date: ASAP
Schedule: Afternoons, 20 hours per week. The exact days and timings are to be confirmed with the family.
Children: Three school-aged boys, ages 11, 10, and 7
Accommodation: Live out
Driver: Ideally, the nanny has her own car for commuting home after the shift 

Role overview

This is a calm, structured afternoon role supporting the after-school period and early evening routine. Both parents are busy professionals and may be at home for part of the shift. The nanny should feel comfortable working independently when needed and collaborating with the parents as they join and leave the routine.

The family values consistency, good manners, and healthy daily habits. They are looking for a nanny who is active, sporty, and naturally aligned with a balanced, health-conscious lifestyle.

Duties and responsibilities

The role will include:

• Supporting the after-school routine and supervising homework where appropriate

• Managing activities and logistics in the afternoons, including collections where needed

• Planning age-appropriate activities and downtime, keeping the afternoons smooth and organised

• Supporting the evening routine as required

• Keeping the children’s spaces in good order, including bedrooms, play areas, school items, and sports kit

• Planning ahead for activities and family travel, including packing for the children when required

• Assisting with child-centred events when requested, such as birthday planning support and practical arrangements

Candidate requirements

• Fluent in Spanish and English

• A professional, career nanny with proven experience supporting school-aged children

• Excellent, checkable references

• Confident with routines, boundaries, and a respectful approach to behaviour and manners

• Naturally organised and proactive, with the ability to anticipate what is needed

• Comfortable working in a household where parents may be present

• Active, health-conscious, and confident, supporting an active lifestyle

• Legal right to work in Spain

• Up-to-date police check, and paediatric first aid is strongly preferred

• Ideally, a confident driver, and ideally with a car for commuting
