Live-in Tutor–Educator – The Bahamas

Position: Live-in Tutor–Educator
Location: The Bahamas (with international travel)
Term: Full-time (Start date flexible)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Accommodation: Provided (private apartment)
Travel: Frequent international travel required

A returning client and truly lovely family based in The Bahamas is seeking a professional, highly experienced tutor–educator to provide full-time, in-home education and care for their bright and curious 3-year-old child. This role is designed for a qualified early childhood teacher or educator—not a traditional nanny—who can deliver a developmentally rich and structured educational programme within a private home environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong classroom background in early years or foundation stage, preferably from a British, Canadian, or American curriculum, and be able to create a stimulating learning environment that nurtures the child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. A calm, organised, and proactive approach is essential, alongside a genuine passion for teaching young children.

Core Responsibilities: The tutor–educator will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with early years learning goals, fostering early literacy, numeracy, and language development through storytelling and structured play-based learning, and maintaining a consistent daily schedule that balances learning, play, rest, and physical activity. They will support the child's social and emotional growth, organise and manage educational materials, monitor developmental progress, and adjust learning plans accordingly. The role includes accompanying the child on educational outings and nature walks, maintaining a safe and organised learning environment, and communicating regularly with the parents regarding the child’s educational journey. The tutor must be travel-ready and able to provide seamless educational care while accompanying the family internationally.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified early childhood teacher with classroom experience (nursery, preschool, or foundation stage)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a tutor–educator or governess for private families

  • Native-level English speaker

  • Confident, creative, and highly organised, with excellent communication skills

  • Flexible, discreet, and travel-ready; able to maintain structure in changing environments

  • Experience in high-profile households is a plus

  • Pediatric First Aid & CPR certified

  • Must hold a US, Canadian, or UK passport for ease of international travel

This is a rare opportunity for an educator seeking a meaningful, one-on-one teaching role in a stunning setting. The family is kind, respectful, and values long-term relationships built on trust, discretion, and shared educational values.
