1. What defines a premium Nanny placed by International Nanny Agency?
A premium Nanny is a highly experienced childcare professional who provides outstanding care within your home. We only introduce candidates who have proven track records, strong references, and recognised childcare or teaching qualifications. Beyond experience, we look for individuals who genuinely view this as a vocation and who can support your child’s development, education, and well-being with dedication and discretion.
2. What rigorous checks do you perform on candidates?
Your trust is our highest priority. Every candidate goes through a detailed interview, during which we assess their skills, commitment, and career aspirations. We verify qualifications, request a DBS (or international equivalent), and speak directly to at least two recent references to confirm their suitability.
3. What level of experience and qualifications do you require from your candidates?
Most of the roles we place require at least three years of full-time professional nanny experience, a recognised childcare or teaching qualification, and an up-to-date first aid certificate. We work exclusively with career professionals — including Rota Nannies, Governesses, and Maternity Nurses — who see this work as a long-term profession, not a temporary role.
4. Can International Nanny Agency support families with an international lifestyle?
Yes. Many of the families we support divide their time between several homes or travel frequently. We place professionals worldwide, provided the employment is legal and fair in the country of residence. Whether you need a Rota Nanny for multiple residences or a Governess to relocate with you abroad, we manage the process with discretion and expertise.
5. Are your nannies native English speakers, or do you offer bilingual professionals?
Both. Many families request native English speakers, but we also work with bilingual and multilingual professionals — French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Mandarin are common. We always take your language preferences into account during the search.
6. What is the expected remuneration for a Nanny, Governess, or Maternity Nurse?

Salaries depend on experience, qualifications, and the demands of the role, such as rota structures, hours, or international travel. We always benchmark against current market standards to ensure the package is competitive.

Full-Time Nanny: £800 – £1,500+ per week (or £15 – £30+ per hour).
Live-In Governess: £1,200 – £1,800+ per week.
Maternity Nurse (24-hour care): £300 – £600+ per 24 hours.

7. Can we arrange training for our Nanny through the Agency?
Yes. Through the International Nanny Institute, we offer online programmes designed to support continued professional development (CPD). These courses cover key areas of childcare and ensure that your nanny remains at the forefront of modern practice.
8. What is appropriate accommodation for a Live-In Nanny or Governess?
At a minimum, live-in professionals require a private bedroom, though many families also provide a private bathroom or even a self-contained flat. What matters most is privacy, comfort, and clarity. We will always discuss accommodation openly with both you and the candidate to ensure mutual agreement.
9. What are the expectations regarding meals for a Live-In Nanny?
Full board must be provided. This can mean including the nanny’s preferences in your household shopping or offering a separate food allowance. The key is that the arrangement is agreed upon clearly from the outset.
10. Can we offer a paid trial period before a final contract?
Yes — in fact, we strongly recommend it. A short, paid trial (from a few hours to a few days) allows both your family and the nanny to confirm suitability. All trial hours are paid, and travel costs must also be covered.
11. Who provides the final employment contract?

12. How long does the recruitment process usually take?
Most searches take between two and six weeks. The process always begins with a personal conversation where we learn about your family’s needs in detail. From this, we prepare a tailored job description for your approval before starting the search. Highly specialised profiles may take longer.
13. Can you help us define the role we really need?
Yes. During our first conversation, we explore your family’s lifestyle, schedule, and priorities. From there, we prepare a job description for your review. This ensures clarity and helps decide whether a Nanny, Governess, or Maternity Nurse is the right fit.
14. Do you assist with payroll, taxes, and insurance?
No, we do not provide payroll, tax, or insurance services. These remain the responsibility of the employer. However, we advise on what is typically required and recommend that families seek professional advice or use a specialist provider to manage these areas correctly.
15. What happens if the candidate cannot legally work in our country?
We only put forward candidates who can prove a legal right to work in your country at the time of placement. We do not provide visa sponsorship, ensuring arrangements remain simple and compliant.
16. What if things don’t work out after the placement?
Although we take great care with every match, circumstances can change. If a placement does not work out within the guarantee period, we will renew the search for a suitable replacement.
17. Do you provide ongoing support after the nanny has started?
Yes. Our role does not end when the placement begins. Families often return to us for guidance or discreet advice, and we remain available to ensure the arrangement continues to work smoothly.
18. Can you provide nannies with specific skills, such as tutoring, special needs experience, or security training?
Yes. We frequently place professionals with specialist skills, whether in tutoring, special needs, newborn care, or security training.
19. Do you have experience placing nannies in fully staffed households?
Yes. Many of the families we support run formal households with wider teams. We only recommend candidates who are comfortable and experienced in such environments.
20. Can we request a bilingual or trilingual nanny for our children?
Yes. We regularly place multilingual professionals. If you would like your children to grow up with exposure to specific languages, we will tailor the search accordingly.
21. What are the agency fees, and how are they structured?

22. Do you charge families for trials or interviews?
There is no fee for interviews. Trial days are paid directly to the nanny at the agreed rate, and travel expenses are reimbursed. Agency fees only apply once a contract is signed.
