Position Summary
International Nanny is seeking a professional Live-In Nanny for a private family expecting a newborn in late March 2026. This is a long-term, permanent role suited to a career nanny who is confident caring for a baby from the newborn stage and enjoys developing a calm, structured routine that adapts as the child grows.
The family splits their time between Barcelona and Ibiza, so flexibility and willingness to travel between both homes are essential. This role is not suitable for a hospital-trained maternity nurse; the family is looking for a nanny with proven newborn and infant experience in private households who can provide consistency, discretion, and high standards of daily care.
Duties & Responsibilities
Newborn & Infant Care
- Providing safe, attentive, developmentally appropriate care from birth onwards
- Supporting feeding routines as preferred by the family (breastfeeding support, bottle-feeding, or mixed feeding)
- Establishing and maintaining a consistent daily rhythm (sleep, feeds, settling, and age-appropriate routine)
- Monitoring the baby’s overall well-being and clearly communicating observations to the parents.
- Maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness for all baby-related items (bottles, equipment, toys)
Routine, Development & Engagement
- Creating a stimulating, age-suitable environment as the baby develops (sensory play, tummy time, early language exposure)
- Supporting developmental milestones through simple, meaningful activities
- Providing calm structure while remaining flexible as the baby’s needs change
Nursery Management
- Keeping the nursery and baby areas tidy, organised and well-stocked
- Preparing bottles, sterilising equipment, and maintaining supplies
- Preparing simple, nutritious meals for the child when age-appropriate (including weaning support later on)
- Monitoring and replenishing nursery essentials
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years’ nanny experience, including strong newborn and infant experience in private households
- Excellent, checkable references (ideally including newborn placements)
- Confident with routine-setting, sleep support, and infant development
- Spanish-speaking (English welcomed but not essential, depending on the family’s preference)
- Confident swimmer
- Flexible and willing to travel between Barcelona and Ibiza
- Calm, organised, reliable, and genuinely child-focused
- A recognised childcare qualification is welcomed, but not essential if experience and references are exceptional
This Role Would Suit
A career nanny seeking a stable, long-term live-in role with a private family, starting from the newborn stage and continuing as the child grows. The ideal candidate will be warm yet structured, highly competent with babies, and confident in managing routines, nursery organisation and daily care to an excellent standard.
