Rota Nanny – Casablanca, Morocco

Start Date: To be confirmed
Position: Rota Nanny
Schedule: One week per month, working in rotation with two established nannies
Salary: €400 per day
Accommodation: Live-in during working rotations

Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, well-educated and engaging Rota Nanny to join a private family based in Casablanca, caring for their three-year-old daughter.

The little girl now attends school, and the family is looking for someone who can support her development through thoughtful, age-appropriate activities, creative play and meaningful interaction.

The successful candidate will work one week per month as part of an established team of three rota nannies, ensuring consistency and continuity in the child's care.

The family places particular importance on a strong educational background, a genuine interest in child development and a naturally affectionate, positive personality. They would welcome someone who is curious, articulate and enthusiastic about encouraging a young child's learning and independence.

Family Environment

This is a well-organised, fully staffed private household where professionalism, discretion and good communication are highly valued.

The nanny will work closely with the two existing rota nannies, following established routines and ensuring smooth handovers between rotations.

With the child attending school, the role will focus particularly on her afternoons, weekends and school holidays, alongside supporting her daily routines and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, affectionate and developmentally appropriate care.

  • Support school routines and organise engaging after-school activities.

  • Encourage learning, creativity, curiosity and independence through play and everyday experiences.

  • Support emotional development, positive behaviour and social skills.

  • Maintain established routines, including meals, personal care and bedtime.

  • Organise the child's belongings and manage all child-related responsibilities.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and fellow rota nannies, ensuring continuity of care.

  • Accompany the family on international travel when required.

Candidate Requirements

  • A strong educational background is essential, ideally with university-level studies or relevant qualifications in education, child development or a related field.

  • A sound understanding of early childhood development and an interest in supporting children's learning.

  • Previous childcare experience and confidence caring for young children.

  • Fluency in English, French or Arabic, with excellent communication skills.

  • A warm, cheerful, affectionate and naturally engaging personality.

  • Creativity, intellectual curiosity and the ability to plan stimulating activities.

  • Emotional intelligence, maturity and a calm, positive approach.

  • Professionalism, discretion and the ability to work collaboratively within an established household team.

  • Flexibility for international travel.

  • Excellent, verifiable references.

Ideal Candidate

We would particularly welcome applications from experienced and enthusiastic candidates who genuinely enjoy working with young children.

The one-week-per-month arrangement could be particularly suitable for someone pursuing further studies or combining childcare with another flexible professional commitment, provided they can offer full availability during their scheduled rotations.

This is a lovely long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys building a close, trusting relationship with a child while working as part of a supportive childcare team.

I would keep this length. It provides enough substance to attract suitable candidates without repeating the same requirements, and the educational emphasis is clear without making the vacancy sound like a governess or teaching position.

One point I would confirm internally before advertising is whether the €400 daily rate applies to a full 24-hour rota arrangement, as this should be clear to shortlisted candidates.

  • Salary Estimate : 400 EUR per day
