Position Summary
International Nanny is seeking a highly experienced, English-speaking Nanny / Early Years Educator to join a private family based in The Bahamas, with regular international travel.
The primary focus of this position will be the care and development of the family's youngest child, aged approximately one year. The family also has a four-year-old child who is academically advanced and enjoys intellectual challenges. Although the older child will not be the nanny's main responsibility, the successful candidate should be confident in providing stimulating educational activities and meaningful learning opportunities for both children.
Both parents are highly involved in their children's upbringing and are looking for someone who will work alongside them in a collaborative, shared-care arrangement.
The family values a warm, nurturing and thoughtful approach to childcare, with particular emphasis on emotional wellbeing, healthy living, independence, curiosity and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
Role Context / Family Environment
The family maintains a fully staffed household and is looking for a professional who can integrate comfortably into an established team.
Both parents take an active role in daily childcare, and the nanny will be supporting rather than replacing their involvement. This creates a collaborative working environment, with considerable autonomy and personal time.
Although this is a full-time position, the working hours are generally lighter than a traditional 40-hour week. In return, the family values flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing schedules and travel arrangements.
The successful candidate will be someone who appreciates a positive, communicative working relationship with parents and enjoys contributing to a child's development as part of a team.

-
Provide attentive, nurturing and developmentally informed care for the youngest child, including feeding, nappy changing, hygiene and daily routines.
-
Support language acquisition, cognitive development, emotional wellbeing and physical development through meaningful, age-appropriate experiences.

-
Maintain detailed observations and records of the youngest child's development, routines and milestones.
-
Support healthy eating habits and assist with preparing nutritious meals and snacks.

Provide stimulating educational activities for the older child, aged four, who demonstrates advanced academic abilities and enjoys intellectual challenges.
-
Encourage early literacy, numeracy, mathematical reasoning, logical thinking and problem-solving through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
-
Recognise and respond to the needs of children who learn at an accelerated pace, introducing new concepts and challenges while maintaining a playful, child-led approach.
-
Foster curiosity, creativity, independent thinking and a genuine enjoyment of learning.
-
Encourage positive sibling interaction through cooperative play, storytelling and shared experiences.
-
Promote an appreciation of nature, physical activity and the wider world.
Family Support and Organisation

Additional Information
Accommodation
This is a live-out position, allowing the nanny privacy and independence from the family home.
Accommodation is provided in a separate staff residence within a secure, gated community. The nanny will have a private bedroom and bathroom, with a shared kitchen and communal areas alongside two other staff members.
The residence offers access to amenities including a swimming pool and gym.
Suitable accommodation will also be arranged during international travel.
Working Schedule and Holidays
The position is based on five working days per week, with two days off, which may not always fall on weekends.
As both parents are actively involved in childcare, the nanny will generally enjoy a lighter working schedule than a traditional full-time role, with considerable personal time.
The family also offers additional time off beyond the contractual holiday entitlement, depending on their schedule and requirements.
Flexibility is particularly important, especially during periods of travel or when family arrangements change.
International Travel
The family is primarily based in The Bahamas and typically spends approximately two to three months per year in the United States, Canada or Italy.
The successful candidate should enjoy international travel and feel comfortable adapting to different residences, environments and routines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a warm, intelligent and experienced childcare professional who combines a nurturing approach with a genuine interest in early childhood education.
We are particularly interested in candidates who enjoy encouraging children's natural curiosity, introducing thoughtful learning experiences and supporting both emotional and intellectual development.
A strong understanding of early years education, together with confidence in numeracy and the ability to engage children with advanced learning abilities, would be particularly valuable.
Equally important are emotional intelligence, good judgement, flexibility and the ability to build a positive working relationship with highly involved parents.
This position would suit someone who values a healthy, active lifestyle, enjoys international travel and is looking for a long-term role with a family who places considerable importance on their children's development and wellbeing.
