Position Summary

International Nanny is helping a family based in Monaco find a highly experienced nanny for their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

The little girl attends school in the mornings and enjoys extracurricular activities in the afternoons. The family would like a nanny who takes a thoughtful interest in her development and enriches her time outside school through conversation, stories, imaginative play and new experiences.

There is a particular emphasis on expanding her vocabulary, encouraging curiosity, and helping her develop confidence, independence, and good manners. This will suit someone who enjoys working with this age group and knows how to make learning part of everyday life while allowing plenty of time for play.

Family Environment

The mother is very hands-on and would like to work closely with the nanny. The father travels regularly for work, and the child also spends time with her extended family. A considerate, collaborative approach will be important.

The household is partially staffed, with a housekeeper. The nanny will focus on the child and her nursery duties, with no general housekeeping responsibilities.

The family travels internationally, sometimes for several weeks or a couple of months, including in winter. Candidates must be comfortable accompanying them on these extended stays and providing continuity of care for the child away from home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care and support the child’s daily routines, wellbeing and growing independence.
  • Develop her vocabulary and communication through conversation, reading, storytelling and play.
  • Plan enjoyable activities and outings that reflect her interests and complement her school day.
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity and age-appropriate learning without making time at home overly formal or academic.
  • Model good manners, kindness and respectful behaviour, offering calm and consistent guidance.
  • Support school and activity arrangements, including accompanying the child as required.
  • Introduce early literacy activities and, as she grows, offer appropriate support with schoolwork.
  • Manage the child’s nursery duties, belongings and packing for travel.
  • Work closely with the mother and communicate thoughtfully with parents and household staff.
  • Accompany the family abroad and adapt activities and routines to each setting.
  • Support the children in developing consistent sleep routines and healthy eating habits, working closely with the parents to establish a gentle, age-appropriate approach.

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive professional nanny experience, with strong recent experience caring for preschool and early school-aged children.
  • A sound understanding of child development and the ability to support language and early learning through everyday interaction.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills. Polish would be particularly valued, ideally alongside some French; English and French are also welcome.
  • A recognised qualification in childcare, early years or education is highly desirable.
  • Current paediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience travelling internationally with children and willingness to spend extended periods away with the family.
  • Confidence working alongside a hands-on parent and other household staff.
  • Professionalism, discretion, sound judgement and respect for family privacy.
  • Excellent, recent and verifiable professional references.
  • Appropriate eligibility to work in Monaco, to be confirmed during the recruitment process.

Additional Information

The family is open to both live-in and live-out candidates. Accommodation, working hours and travel arrangements will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The right nanny will be warm, articulate and observant, with the experience to recognise when to offer guidance and when to give the child space to explore. They will enjoy answering questions, introducing new words and ideas, and helping her take pride in what she can do independently.

Above all, the family is seeking someone who will build a natural rapport with their daughter and work comfortably alongside her mother, offering thoughtful care and a steady approach to a long-term role.
