Position Summary

A well-travelled international family and repeat client of International Nanny is seeking a highly experienced rota nanny to provide attentive, developmentally focused care for their six-month-old daughter.

The family’s maternity nurse has remained with them as part of the rota team, and the baby is well settled into an established routine. They are now looking for a professional nanny with strong infant, toddler and early-years experience who can support her continued development as she grows.

The family values organisation, consistency, discretion and adaptability. As they travel internationally on a regular basis, the nanny must be confident maintaining familiar routines and providing a stable, engaging environment across different locations.

The child is being exposed to several languages from an early age. Fluent English is essential, while French would be considered a valuable additional language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care throughout each working rotation.

  • Maintaining the child’s established routines and adapting them appropriately as she grows.

  • Supporting her physical, cognitive, emotional, social and language development.

  • Planning engaging, screen-free activities suited to her age, interests and developmental stage.

  • Encouraging learning through play, exploration, books, music, creative activities and time outdoors.

  • Supporting developmental transitions, including mobility, communication, weaning and emerging independence.

  • Preparing and organising everything required for the child during international travel.

  • Maintaining consistency across different homes, locations and time zones.

  • Modelling healthy habits, good manners and the family’s values.

  • Sharing relevant developmental observations with the parents.

  • Working collaboratively with the existing rota professional and providing thorough handovers.

  • Liaising respectfully with the parents and other household professionals.

  • Maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion.

Candidate Requirements

  • Extensive professional nanny experience with infants, toddlers and children in the early years.

  • A thorough understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning through play.

  • Previous rota experience or experience within formal, international or fully staffed private households.

  • Confidence supporting established routines, developmental transitions and emerging independence.

  • Fluent English is essential; French would be an advantage.

  • An up-to-date paediatric First Aid and CPR certificate.

  • A recognised childcare or early-years qualification is highly desirable.

  • Experience travelling internationally with young children.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • A cooperative and emotionally mature approach to shared care.

  • Flexibility, discretion and the ability to remain calm in changing environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a warm, capable and highly organised nanny with excellent infant, toddler and early-years experience. They will understand how to create engaging, developmentally appropriate opportunities through play while respecting the child’s established routine and the family’s values.

They should be active and creative, with interests such as music, crafts, outdoor play or sport, and comfortable providing stimulating care without relying on screens. A collaborative approach, clear communication and the ability to work harmoniously within an established rota arrangement will be essential.

  • Salary Estimate : 85,000-95,000 GBP per year
