Position Summary

A family based in Mumbai is seeking a highly experienced nanny with a strong childcare background and excellent knowledge of early years development to care for their 18-month-old son on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a live-out position from the family residence, with separate private accommodation provided. The role focuses exclusively on the older child, as the family is expecting a second baby, who will be cared for separately.

The family would like to find a thoughtful, developmentally aware nanny who can support the child’s routine, independence, communication, confidence and overall well-being. English MT is essential, as the nanny will also support the child’s language development naturally through daily conversation, reading, songs and play.

The role would suit a professional career nanny with strong toddler experience, relevant childcare training or qualifications, and the ability to work confidently within a fully staffed household.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive daily care for an 18-month-old boy.

• Support the child’s routine, including meals, naps, play, outings and transitions.

• Plan age-appropriate activities that support language, movement, curiosity, social development and independence.

• Encourage healthy habits, good manners and age-appropriate self-help skills.

• Support the child’s emotional security through consistency, patience and calm guidance.

• Promote the child’s English language development naturally through conversation, reading, songs and play.

• Observe and support developmental milestones in a thoughtful, age-appropriate way.

• Organise the child’s belongings, nursery areas, clothing and daily essentials.

• Liaise clearly with the parents regarding routines, progress and any relevant observations.

• Work respectfully and professionally alongside other household staff.

• Accompany the family on international travel when required.

• Maintain a flexible and thoughtful approach within a household setting.

Candidate Requirements

• English MT essential.

• Travel-ready and experienced in travelling with families 

• Significant professional nanny experience, with strong experience caring for toddlers.

• Relevant childcare training, early years education or formal childcare qualifications are required, ideally Norland qualified

• Confident understanding of early years development, toddler routines and age-appropriate learning.

• Experience in fully staffed or formal households is required.

• International experience required.

• Able to encourage independence in a warm, patient and developmentally appropriate way.

• Excellent communication skills and a calm, polished manner.

• Discreet, reliable, emotionally intelligent and service-minded.

• Able to read the room and adapt to the family’s preferences and household rhythm.
