Salary: 105,000 – 110,000 USD per year 

Overview

Our client, a private family based in Harlingen, Texas, is seeking a live-in, full-time, long-term Italian-speaking maternity nanny (MT) to care for his one-year-old son. This is a shared-care role alongside an involved father and existing household support. The focus is on the baby’s well-being, routine, and Italian language development, whilst helping the family to run the home smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide confident, caring and attentive childcare for a one-year-old baby, ensuring his safety, comfort and overall well-being
• Support and follow the baby’s daily routine (naps, feeding, bedtime), adapting as he grows and his needs evolve
• Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally focused activities, including sensory play, early communication and motor skills
• Take full responsibility for nursery duties, including:
  • Keeping the nursery and baby areas clean, safe and organised
  • Managing the baby’s laundry, clothing and equipment
  •  Ensuring baby supplies (nappies, wipes, formula/food, etc.) are well stocked
• Prepare and/or support with simple baby meals in line with the family’s preferences and any weaning plan
• Monitor the baby’s health and developmental milestones, sharing observations and any concerns promptly with the parents
• Work in close partnership with the father and other household staff, respecting the family’s routines, values and privacy
• Provide calm, reliable support and introduce Italian language acquisition 

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Background

• Minimum of 3 years’ full-time experience as a professional nanny, with strong experience caring for babies and toddlers 
• Confident in supporting healthy sleep, feeding and daily routines for infants and toddlers 
• Native Italian speaker 

Qualifications & Skills

• At least one recognised childcare qualification, demonstrating a professional approach to early years care
• Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to update before starting)
• Strong understanding of early years development and milestones
• Able to remain calm under pressure and to respond appropriately in emergencies

Languages

• Native Italian speaker
• Conversational English

Right to Work

• Must already have the legal right to work in the USA (US passport or Green Card)
