An international, discreet, and family-oriented household in Budapest is seeking a professional and experienced native French-speaking nanny to support the development and well-being of their 3.5-year-old son. The child currently attends an English-speaking kindergarten and speaks fluent Hungarian. The family is now looking to introduce French as a third language, integrated naturally into daily routines and activities.

Both parents are professionally active; the mother works primarily from home, while the father divides his time between home, the office, and frequently travels for business. The family leads a quiet, health-conscious lifestyle and is closely involved in their child’s daily life. They are seeking a nanny who will complement this atmosphere with structure, warmth, and educational engagement.

The nanny will be responsible for the child’s full-time care, with a strong emphasis on French language acquisition through age-appropriate, play-based learning. The role also includes supporting daily routines, preparing healthy meals, and guiding the child with gentle encouragement, respectful boundaries, and positive behavioural reinforcement.

This is a live-in role best suited to a calm, confident, and highly organised nanny who has experience working with preschool-aged children and living within a family home.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and nurturing care for a 3.5-year-old boy

• Promote French language development through engaging, playful, and educational interactions

• Plan and lead creative, age-appropriate activities in French

• Support healthy routines, including mealtimes, naps, hygiene, and bedtime

• Prepare simple, nutritious meals for the child, and occasionally for the family

• Maintain the tidiness and organisation of the child’s spaces and belongings

• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional intelligence, and good manners

• Communicate openly with the parents to ensure consistency and alignment

• Accompany the child to outings, activities, and appointments when needed

• Ensure the child’s safety at all times, including in and around water

Candidate Profile

• Native French speaker (essential)

• Fluent in English, German, or Hungarian

• Diving license (desirable)

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children aged 3–5

• Prior live-in nanny experience required

• Confident swimmer

• Able to prepare healthy, child-friendly meals and simple family-style dishes

• Calm, discreet, and exceptionally well-organised

• Committed to a healthy, active lifestyle
