Details of the assignment:

A wonderful repeat client is seeking an experienced and nurturing Nanny-Governess to care for their 4-year-old daughter during a summer spent across three beautiful locations: Ibiza in June, the Tuscan coast in July, and London in August.

The ideal candidate will have a warm, gentle, and creative approach, with a strong interest in alternative education methods. Candidates with a background or interest in Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or other holistic, child-led approaches are encouraged to apply. The family is looking for someone who can offer structure and stimulation through storytelling, imaginative play, outdoor experiences, music, and the arts.

The Nanny-Governess will be responsible for supporting the child’s daily routine and development while working closely alongside a hands-on mother. The ability to work collaboratively and intuitively—stepping in when needed, and stepping back to allow family moments—is essential.

Key responsibilities include assisting with morning routines, mealtimes, maintaining an organised play space and wardrobe, and providing consistent emotional support. No cooking is required. As much of the family’s time will be spent around the pool and sea, the nanny must be a strong and confident swimmer, with prior experience supervising children in water.

This is a live-in position, and private accommodation will be provided in each location. The Nanny-Governess will work five days a week for eight hours a day, with some flexibility expected during travel periods.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children aged 3–6 in a nanny or governess role

• Strong swimmer, confident in water and experienced swimming with children

• Gentle, creative, and child-centred approach to learning and care

• Interest in alternative education methods

• Comfortable working in partnership with parents and within a team

• Teaching or early childhood qualifications (desirable)

• Driving licence (desirable)

• 2–3 contactable references

• Languages: Fluent English is essential; knowledge of Spanish or Italian is an advantage
