Live-out, French or Spanish-speaking Nanny in Barcelona

Details of the Assignment: 

A welcoming, artistic, international family based in Barcelona is looking for a kind, caring and nurturing nanny to help with looking after their daughter from January 2023, when she will be 6 months old. The family are looking for a French or Spanish-speaking nanny to join their home and would need someone who can also speak English fluently.

The nanny’s hours will be between 30 and 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. It will be the nanny’s responsibility to care for G6m when mum returns to work.  The nanny will need to be able to carry out nursery duties and have some experience with children in this age group so that she can support the family with implementing and maintaining a routine as well as with weaning. The nanny will need to draw on her knowledge of child development to ensure that G6m is offered age-appropriate activities that are fun and stimulating.

The ideal nanny is someone lively, fun and energetic who is happy to set the boundaries when needed but can also adopt a gentle, child-led approach. The family are interested in the Arts, so this position may suit a creative nanny or lover of the Arts and culture very well. When G6m is older she will be attending an alternative education school which integrates a range of different approaches to education, so any experience or knowledge of alternative education systems would be a big plus.

Requirements of the ideal candidate:

• Relevant experience working with children
• Experience with infants
• 2-3 contactable references  
• French or Spanish speaker
• Good level of English
