Summertime is when kids have all the time in the world to build memories either with their friends, family, or relatives. What’s more, children will remember picnics, swimming trips, sleep-overs, and camping trips with significance. However, these are not just the things that they will recall. They will also remember the awful ones such as being stuck at home with nothing to do on a hot summer day, or their fights with their siblings. Of course, we as parents want to help them make the most out of their summer because after all, they are not going to be kids forever.
As a parent, you don’t want to miss the fun of playing and making memories with your kids, right? So here are some activities that your kids can enjoy with you!
- Pick you own…. Anything!
You can find a place, a farm maybe, with strawberries, blueberries, other fruits, flowers, or anything that can be picked. You and your kids can do it together or you can make this a contest and see who picks the most “anything” after.
2. Cook out more than the usual
Go further than barbecue and burger. Try cooking fish, your kids might find it tastier with a smoky flavor.
3. Camp out
If you would like your children to experience the great outdoors minus the danger, you can opt for an alternative instead. Try backyard camping with your kids!
4. Make your own pancakes anytime of the day
There are available recipes online that are kid-friendly (except for the griddle, of course). Your kids can mix the ingredients together with an adult to oversee everything. Discuss with your kids the toppings you guys will be using, from the plain old butter and maple syrup, fruit toppings, chocolate chips, Nutella, or even peanut butter.
Remember that summertime is the time where you and your kids can spend the most time together. Don’t forget to make it memorable and nostalgic!
